Introduction

Layla AI is an AI-powered Islamic marital and intimacy advisor. We built this service for sensitive conversations and we want to be fully transparent about exactly what we collect, what happens to your messages, and what you can control.

By using Layla AI, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Information We Collect

Required:

• Your email address — to sign you in and contact you about your account.

Optional (only if you choose to share them):

• Your name — so Layla can address you personally.
• Your gender — so guidance is framed from the relevant spousal perspective.
• Your marital status — so Layla can frame guidance for your situation, whether you are married or preparing for marriage.

We also store basic operational data: your subscription status, the count of free messages you have used, and timestamps required to run the service.

We do not use cookies for tracking, we do not use third-party advertising or analytics services, and we do not collect IP-based location data for profiling.

Your Conversations With Layla

We do not store the content of your chats on our servers.We do not write a transcript of your messages or Layla's responses to our database, and we do not log them.

However, to generate Layla's replies, your messages and any optional profile fields you have shared are transmitted in real time to our AI provider, Anthropic, which operates the underlying language model. Anthropic processes these messages under their own privacy and data-handling terms, including a temporary retention window for trust-and-safety review. We have chosen this architecture so that our team has no transcript of your conversations to read, leak, subpoena, or sell.

How We Use Your Information

We use your email and profile information solely to:

• Authenticate you and grant access to your account.
• Personalize Layla's responses (only with the optional fields you provide).
• Manage your subscription and send essential account notices (e.g. billing confirmations).
• Operate basic security and abuse prevention (rate limiting).

We do not use your email for marketing without your explicit opt-in consent. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising.

Service Providers We Use

• Supabase — secure hosting of your account data (email, optional profile, subscription state).
• Anthropic — the AI provider that processes your messages to generate Layla's replies.
• Lemon Squeezy — handles all payment processing. We never see or store your card details.
• Vercel — hosts the website and serves it to your browser.

Data Storage & Security

Your account data is stored on Supabase with encryption at rest and in transit. Access is restricted by row-level security so your data is only readable by you and our backend operations.

Data Deletion & Your Rights

You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard. When you do, we permanently remove your email and profile data from our systems within 24 hours. Subscription records required for tax and accounting compliance are retained only as long as required by law.

Children

Layla AI is intended exclusively for adults. The service is not directed at minors, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you via the email address on your account before the changes take effect. Continued use of Layla AI after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
